Pakistan’s envoy to U.N. criticized for using fake image to malign India

Pakistan’s envoy to the UN has been criticized for using a fake image to illustrate alleged Indian atrocities in Jammu and Kashmir.

Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Maleeha Lodhi held up a picture of a victim of Israeli airstrikes in Gaza claiming it to be of a victim of Army’s pellet guns in Kashmir.

The lie of Pakistan has been exposed in UN as it representative Maleeha showed a fake image of a “pellet gun victim”, in her country’s right to reply to India’s External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.

Maleeha Lodhi’s claim has boomeranged on her as the picture used by her was reported by a number of media outlets as that of Rawia Abu Joma’a, a 17-year-old girl injured in Israeli airstrikes on Gaza city in 2014.

Rawia’s picture was taken by award winning photographer Heidi Levine.
