Different newspapers have made different lead story today. The news of the farmer protests across India and the ten day farmer strike from June 1st to 10th gets wide coverage in many dailies. “Farmers threaten to starve cities” headlines the Pioneer. The paper writes ‘Protest in 7 states for MSP, loan waiver, organisations plan to cut off supply.’ The Hindustan Times reports “Nationwide shutdown planned on June 10th”.

After negotiations over portfolios in Karnataka government, Congress decides to enter into a pre-poll alliance with the Janata Dal (Secular) for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections – is a story widely covered. “Eye on 2019, Congress cedes Key Karnataka posts to JDS”, writes the Times of India.

In the wake of renewed buzz about opposition unity after BJP’s setbacks in Lok Sabha and Assembly bypolls, the Times of India speculates “Twitter exchange triggers talk of Congress, AAP alliance in Delhi”. The Asian Age observes “BSP in talks with Congress for pre-poll pact in 3 states”.

Bollywood actor Arbaaz Khan coming under the scanner of the Thane Police for alleged betting in the recently concluded IPL is also highlighted by most newspapers. “Dabangg’s Bhai Arbaaz summoned for IPL betting” headlines the Pionner.
