Madhya Pradesh CM demands for outstanding amount of Rs.2624 Cr by NAFED

Vinit Wahi/New Delhi

The Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan met Union Finance Minister Piyush Goyal here and expressed gratitude for easing the problem of cash crunch in the state.

It may be noted that common people, especially farmers were facing hardship due to the problem of cash crunch in the banks which has now been eased after intervention of the Union Finance Minister. Now banks have sufficient cash which makes it easy to pay beneficiaries of various welfare schemes of the state government.

He told that state farmers are happy due to increase in MSP by the Union government. He requested the Finance Minister for an early payment of the outstanding amount of Rs.2624 by NAFED to the procurement agencies and that the credit limit of NAFED be increased by 16 thousand crores.

The CM requested that moong crop be included in the Bhawantar Bhugtan Yojna under which the Centre and state should share 50-50 % costs each of Rs. 800 cr. He also asked for central assistance in procurement and warehousing.
