LekhTandon’s film on triple Talaq to be showcased at Berlin Film Fest

The last directorial venture of the late director LekhTandon, “PhirUsi Mod Par”, based on the much-debated issue of triple Talaq, will be showcased at this year’s Berlin International Film Festival, one of the biggest platforms of world cinema.

The film, which is set to be released in India in March, and which has already received UA certificate from the Central Board of Film Certificiation, will be screened in Berlin on February 24.

Tandon, whose career spanned 55 years during which he directed, produced and acted in many notable films and TV serials, passed away on October 15 last year. It was Tandon’s famous Doordarshan serial “DilDariya” that saw the debut of superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

After Tandon’s demise, his close friends TrinetraBajpai and KanikaBajpai have taken the onus of releasing the film. While MrBajpai has also given music to the film, MsBajpaihas sung a song and played an important role in the film.

Born in 1929, Tandon started his directorial career with the super hit Hindi film “Professor” in 1962, and followed it up with films like “Amrapali”, “Prince”, “EkBaarKaho”, “DulhanWohi Jo Piya Man Bhaye” and “Agar Tum Na Hote”.

He had also acted in films like “Swades”, “Rang De Basanti”, “Chennai Express”, etc.
