Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that ensuring justice to poor was Centre’s priority.Prime Minister was speaking at the closing ceremony of Allahabad High Court’s 150th anniversary celebrations.
Prime Minister said that ensuring justice delivery to poor people is the priority of government. Noting that technology has a big scope in judiciary, Prime Minister urged those involved with the start up sector to innovate on aspects where technology can help the judiciary.
Prime Minister also said that every citizen should prepare a roadmap for the country which we want to create when we mark 75 years of freedom in 2022.
Prime Minister said that government has started the task of eradicating obsolete laws and over 1200 obsolete laws have been scrapped by the Government since May 2014.
Speaking on the occasion.. Chief Justice of India.. Justice Khehar appealed to the judges and the lawyers community to give at least five days during the vacations for reducing pendency of cases.
Earlier, Speaking on the occasion, Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that Government’s commitment for independence of judiciary is absolute and government is working closely with the Chief Justice of India to improve the justice delivery system.
He also complimented Allahabad High Court for taking various historic decisions in the past.
Addressing at closing ceremony of Allahabad High Court’s 150th anniversary celebrations, UP Chief Minister Adityanath Yogi said that law stands above everybody.
The year-long celebrations were inaugurated by President Pranab Mukherjee on March 13 last year.
