Kolkata: Police seizes demonetised notes worth Rs 4 Cr

black moneyThe West Bengal police have seized over 4 crore rupees in demonetised 500 rupees and 1,000 rupees notes from the possession of a person in the city.

A senior official said, acting on a tip-off, a raid was conducted by a team of Kolkata Police last night at a premises on Lee Road in the Bhowanipore Police station limits and seized 4 crore 15 lakh 7 thousand rupees from the possession of Ashok Surana.

The entire amount is in the denomination of demonitised currencies of 500 and 1000 rupees. The officer said, the enquiry is going on.
