Janata Dal (United) today made it clear that it would fight the 2019 General election along with BJP as allies. Briefing media after the meeting of party National Executive here, party Spokesperson K C Tyagi said, the decision about sharing of seats has not come up for discussion yet.

He said, JD(U) will contest election in Mizoram, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh on its own. He also rejected media reports that JD(U) is helping BJP and added they are neither supporting nor opposing them.

Mr Tyagi said, his party is in the favour of simultaneous elections but does not think it is easy to be conducted. He said, simultaneous elections are step towards less expensive election, curbing black money and better governance.
