ITTF World tour India open: 6 Indian paddlers advance to pre-quarterfinals

Six Indian paddlers have advanced to the pre-quarterfinals of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) World Tour India Open in New Delhi. In the Men’s Singles, Achanta Sharath Kamal, Harmeet Desai and Sanil Shetty, while in the Women’s section, Mouma Das, Mousumi Paul and Suthirta Mukherjee won their respective opening round matches yesterday to enter the last-16 stage.

However, 10 Indians in the Singles, including Soumyajit Ghosh, Amalraj Anthony, Manika Batra and Sreeja Akula, bowed out after losing their first round matches. In the Doubles, the hosts’ campaign ended as 6 Indian pairs failed to progress to the next round of the country’s biggest Table Tennis event.
