ICC Test Rankings: Virat Kohli retains second spot

India skipper Virat Kohli holds on to his second position in the latest ICC Test Player Rankings released today.

Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara remains at seventh position.

India Test spinner Ravichandran Ashwin slipped one place in the bowlers ranking to take the fifth position while Ravindra Jadeja holds on to his second spot in the all-rounders ranking.

Australia’s Steve Smith is comfortably placed at the top of the Test player ranking. South Africa opener Aiden Markram, sustained his surge towards the top during an amazing first year in Test cricket, making his way to ninth position among the batsmen ranking.

Meanwhile, New Zealand have leapfrogged Australia to third place in the ICC Test Team Rankings.

The swapping of places has resulted in a clear gain of 100,000 US Dollars for New Zealand as they will now receive 200,000 US Dollars from ICC for taking the third spot on the cut-off date of 3rd April.

Australia will get half that amount after finishing fourth.
