The Congress has demanded the resignation of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the wake of exposure of his Cabinet colleague Jitendra Singh Tomar’s arrest in case of fake degrees. The party also protested in front of the Delhi Secretariat this afternoon to press for its demand.
Later, talking to reporters this afternoon, party spokesperson Ajay Maken said Mr Tomar should resign from the Delhi Assembly also. Mr Maken also questioned inordinate delay in the appointment of Lokayukta in the city.
Meanwhile, Delhi Police Commissioner B S Bassi said those who helped Mr Tomar get fake degrees should be identified so that racketeers involved in fabricating false documents could be exposed and education system saved.
