Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung has rejected the appointment of Swati Maliwal as a chairperson of Delhi Commission for Women (DCW). Official sources in the LG House said today that Mr Jung has written a letter to Delhi Government seeking explanation on the appointment of Mrs Maliwal. The letter said, the Delhi government has appointed Mrs Maliwal as DCW chief, without prior approval of the Lieutenant Governor.
Aam Aadmi Party leader Swati Maliwal on Monday took over as the new Chairperson of Delhi Commission for Women. She has been associated with Arvind Kejriwal since India Against Corruption movement. Ms Maliwal replaces Ms. Barkha Singh Shukla.
