The government has been providing amenities to the pilgrims of Hindus as well as Muslims. The amenities are being provided to Mansarovar Tirath Yatris and pilgrims of Urs and Haj.
Dr. Walia said after chairing a meeting on arrangements for Kawar Camps in Delhi.
Dr. Walia further stated that in this meeting it will be ensured that all the concerned departments fulfill their responsibilities to make the Kawar Yatra successful. Senior officers of Revenue Department, MCD, Health Department, DISCOMS, Delhi Police, Delhi Fire Services, Delhi Jal Board, DUSIB, PWD and CATS were also present in the meeting. It becomes our duty to provide them all necessary amenities.
The minister further stated that arrangements will be made for water-proof tents, electric supply, sanitation, health services, drinking water, mobile toilets, fire safety, proper road, law and order, traffic and ambulance. Around 100 mobile toilets and 30 ambulances are being deployed. The camps will be organized between 18th July to 29th July, 2011. During this period 100 camps across Delhi will be organized to provide safe passage to Kawarias, it has been decided to earmark a separate lane on one side of the road. This will help in curbing accidents, apart from provide a dedicated lane to Kawarias.
Dr. Walia directed the Dy. Commissioners to convene meetings in their respective area and invite Kawar Samities. This will provide an opportunity to the officer bearers of Kawar Samities to become familiar with the concerned officers and will also go a long way in making all foolproof arrangements. The officer bearers will also be provided a list of mobile numbers of all nodal officers of concerned departments. Dr. Walia stated that the Revenue Department will ensure that all arrangements are made well before the Yatra begins.
