The Delhi High Court today held that state government’s anti-corruption branch has the jurisdiction to arrest police personnel and dismissed the bail application of police head constable Anil Kumar in a corruption case.
The head constable was arrested by the Anti Corrupition Branch (ACB ) of Delhi Government on May 2. A bench of the court disallowed the application of constable challenging ACB jurisdiction in the matter.
The court said in its interim order that ACB of the Government of National Capital Territory Delhi has the jurisdiction to entertain and act on a complaint under the Prevention of Corruption Act in respect of a Delhi Police officer or official and to investigate and prosecute the crime.
