Death toll due to heat wave in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana crosses 1,100 figure. In Telangana, the death toll due to sun stroke rose to 243 following 76 deaths reported yesterday alone. Nalgonda recorded maximum 73 deaths during the past few days.
In Andhra Pradesh, the death toll due to heat wave has gone up to 884 with a number of deaths reporting from various districts yesterday. Maximum 202 persons died in Praksam district and 130 persosn died in Guntur districts. Meanwhile, Met officials have warned people to be aware of heat wave conditions for next few days in the two states.
Meanwhile, District authorities have asked people to remain in doors as a precautionary measure. Andhra Pradesh Police department has opened water distribution centres at the limits of all police stations in the state to serve people. The police department also relieved Home Guards in the state from duties between 10AM to 4PM at all towns and cities.
