Centre seeks cooperation of states for ensuring houses for all in urban areas

VENKAIAH NAIDUUnion Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu today  said that Centre has sought cooperation of states for ensuring houses for all in urban areas said National Urban Rental Housing Policy has been formulated and it will be taken for Cabinet approval soon.

Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Mr Naidu said owning a pucca house is a fundamental aspiration for all citizens of the country and the government is committed to fulfill it.

Mr Naidu said, ensuring a task of house for all in urban areas is a challenge and states should cooperate with Centre in this connection. He said, government has approved financing of construction of 17.73 lakh affordable houses in 2,008 cities and towns.

The Minister said Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is a testimony to the Government’s commitment to inclusive development. He said, government has put an enabling ecosystem to provide speedy housing.
