CBSE has filed an FIR against a publisher for indecent depiction of women and misrepresenting the board’s syllabus for Class XII Physical Education Course.

The case has been filed at Preet Vihar Police Station in Delhi under the indecent representation of women (Prohibition) Act 1986. In a statement, CBSE said, there were several complaints reported recently through various sources which said, the text book certifies the best figure for females.

The board had issued a clarification stating that it had not prescribed the controversial book. It is further added that CBSE does not recommend books by any private publishers to the affiliate schools and it has no association with the objectionable contents and indecent references to women in the book.
