Rajya Sabha has received a privilege notice on Rajya Sabha Television channel. The notice was signed by sixty members belonging to all political parties. Responding to the members’ queries, Deputy Chairman P J Kurien said the Chair will take a decision on its admission after going through all the relevant facts.

Govt asks media to exercise restraint on speculating about aftershocks

The government on Sunday asked the media houses to exercise restraint while speculating about possible aftershocks after the devastating quake in Nepal. In a media advisory, External Affairs Ministry said, undue speculation may cause unnecessary panic and complicate relief efforts. India is making all efforts to provide relief and evacuate stranded citizens in time.
