BJP revokes suspension of Dayashankar Singh

BJP today revoked the suspension of Dayashankar Singh, who had allegedly made derogatory remarks against BSP Chief Mayawati.

This was stated by party spokesman Harish Chandra Srivastava. The suspension was revoked a day after Dayashankar Singh’s wife Swati Singh won the Assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh.

Swati Singh, who is also the head of the BJP women’s wing, had won the poll from Sarojini Nagar seat of Lucknow.

After Singh had made derogatory remarks against Mayawati, an FIR was registered against him in July last year.

The issue was also taken up by Mayawati in the Lok Sabha and later the BJP suspended Singh, who was holding the post of vice president in BJP’s UP unit.

BJP registered a landslide victory in UP yesterday bagging more than two-third majority.
