Amarinder Singh sworn-in as Punjab CM

Senior Congress leader Captain Amarinder Singh, has taken over as Chief Minister of Punjab and was administerrd the oath of office and secrecy by Governor VP Singh Badnore at Raj Bhawan in Chandigarh today.

capt-amarendar-singhThose sworn in as cabinet ministers were Navjot Singh Sidhu, Braham Mohindra, Manpreet Singh Badal, Sadhu Singh Dharamkot, Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Rana Gurjit Singh Sodhi and Charanjit Singh Channi.

Two women MLAs Aruna Chaudhary and Razia Sultana were sworn in as Ministers of State (Independent Charge).

The ceremony was attended among others by former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Amarinder Singh on taking over as Punjab CM. Mr. Modi wished him the best in working for state’s development.
