AMN /New Delhi

sisodiyaDelhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia Tuesday said that the Government has been able to fill the gap between people and governance through various initiatives. Expressing satisfaction over the works performed by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in the last two years, he Said : “Sal to keval do hue hein, kam to lekin dhero hue hein. Yeh aam logo ki sarkar hein (It has been only two years but we performed large number of works. This Government is for the commoners).

When we was voted to power by huge mandate, the most important work of the AAP government was to remove disconnect between people and governance, and we have been able to fix it,” Mr Sisodia said at a press conference held to give an account of two years of the Delhi Government.

Taking a dig at the Delhi police over arrest of its party MLAs, Mr Sisodia said the harassment suffered by the legislators had been historic in last two years as no other political representative of the ruling government across different states suffered the same. Citing Courts observations, the Deputy chief minister said, “out of 19 cases, Delhi police could not furnish furnish proper reports on 13 cases and was rebuked. Whether it is Shunglu Committee, LG, or CBI, they can find procedural errors in work but not in our intention of allocating finances.” Mr Sisodia, who is also the Education Minister of the state said that in the last two years the AAP government has brought education in nation’s discourse from just being a department. Stressing on making education the focus of Governance, he said the more education level increases there will be less requirement of help from the Government in coming times.

“Our dream is of a country with the maximum educated population which requires bare governance,” Mr Sisodia asserted. Highlighting the various initiative under taken by the Government to boost the education sector like leadership skills, reading melas etc, the Education minister said, “The quality of our educated beings should be of that intensity which brings a self governed lifestyle in the entire society.”

On free WiFi across the state made by AAP during the Assembly polls, Mr Sisodia said, “Work towards making Delhi a WiFi zone is still in progress. Models across the globe are being analysed”. Among others present on the occasion were his Cabinet colleagues Kapil Mishra, Gopal Rai, Imran Hussain, Satyendar Jain and Chief Secretary M M Kutty
